Poker is simply played with the goal of making cash. Before the game starts, the players together have to agree on a betting limit. To play Poker, one has to understand the basic rules of the game.

Before the game starts, each player has to keep an ante or ‘token bet’ into the pot. It assures that there will be something after win on each hand.

After that the cards are dealt by the dealer. It starts from the player who is to his left side and then it works clockwise. The last man will be the dealer himself. As soon as everyone gets 5 cards, the rest of the deck is kept on the table and then the game starts.

The first player has to place the bet. But who would be the first one? The game can be started from the person who sits to the left side of the dealer. The person to his left will bet first in the next hand and it will continue like this.

Players will have a number of choices in the first round. If no one has made a bet, you will have two choices: Open (It means that you have to bet first) and Check (Here you have to decide what to do). If someone has already started betting, you will have three choices: See (Seeing another player means that you match his bet), Raise (You first have to see the previous bet and then increase it) and Fold (It means giving up).

At this time, players who haven’t folded yet can chuck out the cards they want and take some new ones. A player is allowed to get rid of up to 3 cards and get up to 3 new ones in place of them.

After each of the players take up to 3 new cards, the betting starts once again. You will have the five options again.

Now it is the time of result. The player who has the highest hand wins the pot.

The only way to continue the game is no to fold. But if you really have a bad hand, you would think of folding.

Iowa, the First to Authorize Online Poker

The US Federal Government has finally legalized online betting. And Iowa is the first among the US states who have authorized online poker. Doug Struyk, the state representative of Iowa, is now concentrating on work towards the venture. He feels that it is the right time.

According to the opinion of Struyk, online betting is nothing but an “account deposit wagering”. He has shared some interesting information about online gambling. He has informed that around 50,000 Iowans visit online casino frequently and play online poker on a regular basis.

He feels that local online casino owners can easily offer trustworthy games to the players as online gambling has been legalized in the state. Otherwise the online casinos outside the state provide gambling facilities and players can lose their precious dollars.

His suggestion will help the Iowan residents to open online accounts at any of the casinos scattered all over the state. Though he has supported the bill, he feels that there is a poor chance of the bill to be passed. When the public will be properly instructed, it will have a value. The House Majority Leader feels that the concept is new in Iowa and people are not yet ready to accept it.

Kevin McCarthy, the Democrat from Des Moines, Iowa, claims that the legalization of online betting in the state of Iowa will turn up as the major development in the online gambling world in US. Then the state of Iowa will be the first to authorize online gambling.

Florida Legalized Online Betting

The Federal Government of US finally has taken steps to control online betting. They have taken steady steps to lift the ban on gambling online. Florida is perhaps the first state which has legalized online betting. And in this regard the Internet Poker Consumer Protection and Revenue Generation Act of 2010 has been documented.

The legislation clearly describes online betting and its regulated systems. If the appeal is granted by the Florida state legislators, the state probably turns out to be the first one to exploit the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act).

UIGEA was implemented in the year 2006 in order to throw out online gambling of the country. But the industry has expanded hugely in the following years. UIGEA allows intrastate online betting and Abruzzo’s legislation has utilized its full advantage.

If the bill has got approval, it could give consent to online gambling hubs to control online poker sites. As a result, the operators could buy business licenses in Florida and also get license from the other US states. The license is obliged to offer online poker games outside the state of US.

The minimum age for betting could be 21. Additional protection has also been taken to protect the players. The software used by the online poker site should be fully safe and insured. Any further licensing of online gambling operators will give protection against any possible scam.

Once the bill is passed, set rules will be brought to fix an upper limit to the deposited amount. It will, in turn, help to trim down gambling addiction.
